What does “Fellow of the PFS” mean?

Anne is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (PFS) – the highest designation awarded by the PFS. Completion of the Fellowship programme shows that she has attained and maintained the most prestigious level of professional financial planning achievement.

Qualifications

  • AF3 (Pension Planning)

    This examination assesses the candidate to develop in depth financial planning skills related to personal and corporate pensions.

  • AF5 (Financial Planning Process)

    This examination assesses the candidate to develop an understanding of the financial planning process when giving advice to clients.

  • CF6 (Certificate in Mortgage Advice)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK regulation environment in the financial services industry, mortgage products, repayment options and the giving of mortgage advice.

  • CF8 (Certificate in Financial Planning and Long Term Care Insurance)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK regulation environment in the financial services industry, long-term care insurance products and the giving of long-term care insurance advice.

  • CF9 (Pensions Simplification)

    This examination assesses a knowledge and understanding of the government’s simplified pension taxation regime, which came into full effect on 6 April 2006 (A-Day). Eight tax regimes for pensions were reduced to one, radically affecting planning and transactions.

  • ER1 (Equity Release)

    This examination assesses a knowledge and understanding of the different types of equity release products, risks to the consumer associated with equity release and application of suitable equity release solutions according to the circumstances of different customers.

  • J11 (Wrap and Platform Services)

    At the end of the unit, candidates should be able to understand the use of platforms in providing financial services, the legal regulatory environment in which they operate and the ability to assess the suitability of platforms in meeting client requirements.

  • R01 (Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, including regulation, legislation and the Code of Ethics.

  • R08 (Pension Update)

    This qualification focuses on pension reforms and how they affect advice, including the new legislative, compliance and reporting requirements.

  • ACII (Associateship)

    Associate members are those who have gone on to secure more advanced qualifications by completing the Advanced Diploma in Insurance or its predecessor the Associateship. This shows a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • FPFS (Fellow)

    To achieve the Fellowship grade, individuals would be required to have 10 AFPC (Diploma) units or equivalent. This shows a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Diploma in Insurance

    The Diploma in Insurance is a technical and supervisory qualification for insurance staff working across all sectors of the industry, and the logical progression from the Certificate in Insurance. The Diploma provides individuals with a firm understanding of insurance fundamentals and enables them to build towards advanced technical knowledge, thereby ensuring they have the means to function effectively in a challenging environment.

  • Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning

    This qualification enables professional advisers to develop specialist planning capabilities, and covers topics such as: personal tax and trust, business financial, pension and investment planning.

  • Diploma in Financial Planning

    This level 4 diploma meets the FCA’s qualification requirements for retail investment advisers, demonstrating core technical knowledge and financial planning capabilities across six core areas.

  • Certificate in Equity Release

    The Level 3 Certificate in Equity Release meets the FCA’s requirement for mortgage advisers and those advising on equity release schemes. In addition to developing advisory skills, the Certificate offers an understanding of equity release regulation, products, market practice, and customer needs.

  • Award in Pensions Update

    This single unit qualification develops and tests knowledge of pension reforms and how they impact at-retirement advice.

  • Certificate in Mortgage Advice

    The Level 3 Certificate in Mortgage Advice meets the FCA’s qualification requirements for mortgage advisers. It develops an understanding of the sector and the mortgage process, enabling advisers to meet individual client needs.

  • Certificate in Life and Pensions

    The life and pensions route builds knowledge and understanding of the sector’s role and its activities. It considers important customer needs, solutions and products, and how individuals and organisations work within the regulatory and legislative environment.

  • Award in Long Term Care Insurance

    This level 3 award develops the knowledge and understanding of long-term care cover, including legal, taxation and regulatory issues and the responsibilities of local authorities.

Outside of work, Anne is dedicated to continual development and enjoys spending quality time with her family. She is also passionate about fitness, regularly engaging in weight training and various workouts.
